Tropical Storm Gustav

I would really appreciate it if this tropical storm would NOT hit us or my mom in Louisiana...because 1. I don't have TIME for a hurricane or TS 2. I don't want my mom to have to go through another hurricane 3. If it hits us that means it will be raining and or wet on the day of my bridal portraits...which are to take place OUTSIDE so please...Tropical Storm Gustav...go away!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's 50th birthday! Woohoo! As everyone knows...she's been dealt a rough hand of cards this year but she has made it through!! I'm so proud of her and love her so much!! My mom has always been the least selfish person I know...I mean for God's sake she raised 3 kids and never complained...and ANYONE with kids knows it's not an easy job. Just 7 months ago my mom was in rehab for her stroke...and just 4 months ago she was undergoing brain surgery...and just a month ago she suffered another stroke (i think i forgot to post about it) and today...she's happy, healthy (still working on complete clean bill of health ;), ALIVE, walking, talking, she's even returned to work, and most importantly...she's had no lasting debilitating side effects. How wonderful is our God?! So...Happy 50th Birthday Mom!!! I wish I was there to hug you and tell you how much to mean to me!! Come back to Texas already!

Summer colds?!

Being sick in the summer has to be one of the worst things ever!! Especially when you live in Texas...muchless the Houston area! I can't breathe because I'm all stopped up and when I walk outside in our beautiful 105% humidity I feel like someone is blocking off my air flow!! So please...make this cold go away!!!

On a lighter and brighter note...wedding invites have officially been mailed! Evidently I waited til the last minute to do so, as usual, but they are off off and away! I went to the post office this morning to have the invite weighed...good thing I did...it weighed in at 1.1 oz...so yes that makes it .1 oz over the 42 cent stamp limit...that bumped us up to the 59 cent stamp which the post office just happened to not have in a "wedding" print...so I had to go on a mad hunt for "wedding" 59 cent stamps...I found them...and found out they are sold in sheets of 20...and I needed 45 sooo I ended up with SIXTY 59 cent stamp...if anyone needs these, please let me know. =)

We have lots of activities coming up...lots of birthdays!! My calendar is looking something like this...

8/23 - Nathan's Birthday Party
8/25 - Mom's Birthday & Cayden's Birthday
8/26 - Nathan's Birthday - First day of school for me
8/30 - Cayden's Birthday Party
9/5 - Bridal portraits & Cake tasting
9/13 - Bridal shower
9/20 - Sherie's Birthday

And my little Nate is starting T-Ball so I'm sure I will be at many of those games. I can't wait!! And not to mention...I have lots of wedding stuff to wrap up annnnd I'll be in school. I'm sure this will be a piece of cake, RIGHT?! ;)

Summer School!! I am happy to say...summer school is FINALLY over...I have 17 days off before Fall semester starts. I made a B+ in my first class and an A in my second one. Go me! =) Anyway...I plan on enjoying all 17 days of no school by being super busy at work...and doing everything wedding related. Fun huh?? Hope everyone else is having a great summer!!
