The Circus

Yes...I went to the Britney Spears concert last night with my sister, my sister's BFF, and my BFF. Don't hate. We had a blast...and many laughs! I so wish I would have taken a picture of the people next to us. These two guys did not sit down the entire show and were dancing allll night. Thanks again Sister for the best birthday present...even if I am 26 and not 16!

Our trip...

Our trip to El Paso started off rough! Our flight was scheduled to depart at 9:05am so hubs rushed home from work (he got off work at 6:30am that morning) and showered and changed...we rushed to drop our dog Lucee off at the PetHotel then to the parking garage only to find out our flight was delayed an hour and 25 minutes. Nice. So while we drank our way too strong Starbucks knockoff coffee we waited...and waited...around 10am I pulled the girls away from their Nintendo DS's and we headed to the restroom so we'd be good to go on the plane...when we got back to our gate the hubs informed me the flight was delayed ANOTHER 45 minutes...UGH...UGH...UGH..This was all because of fog. Seriously, fog in the middle of March at 10am?! Anyhow...we were quite happy when we finally saw this....

We departed Houston at 11:15am....only 2 hours and 10 minutes late. We landed in El Paso around noon...their time...we headed straight to our favorite place, Wienerschnitzel! Umm, I may or may not have broken my french fry give up...we visited with the hubs grandparent's then we went back to his parent's house and played a little croquet...

On Thursday my MIL had to work for a few hours so we just laid low for the morning...and of course I started getting sick. I told you...it never fails...someone always gets sick. We made no less than 5 trips to Walgreens while we were there. I took a 3 hour nap while the family played more croquet...

On Friday morning we headed to the outlet mall...yay! My favorite place ever!! We got lots of stuff...so did the little ladies!! I must say though...this was our best buy...

I'm pretty sure that is my Mother's Day present. ;) Our oldest daughter broke out in a rash...and started running a fever Friday...the pollen in El Paso is insane!! On Saturday we went to the famous Cattleman's Steakhouse and checked out their petting zoo after lunch.

The little ladies really enjoyed all of the animals!

The view wasn't too bad either!

Saturday evening we spent time with his aunt's and cousins. We had a nice time...if you ignore the fact that two of us were sick! The climate is just so different there! Anyhow, that was our little trip to El Paso! Until next time....Adios El Paso!

No Exception

Every.single.time we go to El Paso one of the kiddos gets sick...and this time is proving to be no exception. Our oldest daughter has been sneezing and having a stuffy nose since Sunday...and we leave tomorrow....so it appears we will spend another vacation in El Paso with a sick child. We've been giving her medicine hoping it'll go away...I'm sure this weather is not helping!

Also, I'm very intrigued by this...

The Chicago river being dyed green every year. Anyone else find this intriguing or am I the only one?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

If You Don't Like...

The weather in Texas....wait 2 days!

Yep, it's a beautiful, sunny, warm day in Texas....after an ugly and COLD weekend!! And we wonder why we're sick all the time!

Not Me Monday

Oh c'mon guys...let's jump on board with MckMama and tell about what we DID NOT do this past week.

I most certainly did not eat a candy bar for lunch Thursday...but if I did...it would have been a Thingamajig...you know...the sister to the Whatchamacallit candy bar!

I was not the most unmotivated student ever last week...because I'm all about being motivated to finish my degree!

I have not been praying nonstop for baby Dash who was diagnosed with Necrotizing Enterocolitis...can you say a prayer for him too? He's been in the NICU since the day he was born...March 9, 2009.

I have not been craving french fries like crazy...just because I gave them up for Lent.

And I am most certainly not looking forward to Spring Break...nope, not me!

My 26th Birthday

So I'm a week and one day late...but better late than never, right? We've been super busy around our house lately. We had company two weekends in a row and are getting ready to head out west Wednesday morning.

I'll just make this a photo post...

The hubs and I waiting for our table

The kiddos playing with their chop sticks...they were playing drums!

Mom, Aunt Donna, BFF Candace, BFF's hubs, Michael, and park of my BIL, Ben.

Jr, our hibachi cook...doing tricks with those spatula thingies...

Cooking up our veggies

There goes our meat

Me...isn't that hat a nice look? =)

The fried ice cream they gave me...I did not care for it!

Now...some real birthday cake that my loving hubs made for me!! It was so yummy! Everyone came to our house after dinner for cake and ice cream.

Thank you Mom, Aunt Donna, Candace, Michael, Ben, Sherie', Tammy, Dad, Mama #2, and of course, my awesome hubs for being here with my on my birthday!! Love you guys!

Cuppy CakeS

Yep, I said cakeS....meaning I got not ONE but TWO giant cupcake pans for my birthday! And both were total surprises from dear friends who read my blog. Thank you ladies!!! I got two DIFFERENT ones...and I'm keeping BOTH...Hubs asked why I needed both...Ummm, duh...they're different!

Jamie got me THIS one.

Erin got me THIS one.

I can't wait to use them...ya know...when I have a second to breathe.

(Total side note...I work for an ambulance company...have for almost 7 years...one just left our station with their lights on...I thought "cool they're actually doing something" seeing as our call volume has been down...then I realized they just had their lights on to back out of the station so traffic would stop...jerks. That's not cool guys...)

Unacceptable

It was 84 on Monday...it is now 48 on Friday...does this sound/feel/look acceptable?? Yeah, I didn't think so either.

Speaking of unacceptable things...is it acceptable to be driving the company Suburban...only to fly into the parking lot of one of the company's owned by the guy who owns the company you work for (we still have our mail delivered there...we used to be in that building, so I have to go check it every morning)...with the radio blaring...all because you think "surely he won't be here this early"...and he was there...THAT early...sitting in the cafe area with a perfect view of the parking lot that I just whipped right into. Good thing I've been with the company for almost 7 years and he likes me....because he just smiled at me when I walked inside and said "Happy it's Friday?" Umm, yes...Mr.CEO man...I am happy it's Friday! How about you?!

Stride4Stroke 2009

Wow, Saturday was amazing! Our team, NeNe's Angels, met at my sister's house at 7:30am and we were off to Rice University.

Mom and her sweet puppy, Koda...who we unfortunately had to get rid of Sunday.

Once we got to the University and checked in we were off on our 5K walk.

The walk took us through the campus. It is a beautiful campus and the weather was fantastic!

We made good timing...with a stroke survivor! =) We finished the 5K in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Not too shabby...there were 3 kids, also!

After the walk there was a family style picnic at the University stadium. The kiddos played on some blow up toys and ate fresh fruit!

Our team raised a little over $600 dollars and we had 11 people show up for the walk. I'm already looking forward to next year!! I'm so proud of my mom for completing the walk. She is an amazing stroke survivor!! (multiple strokes)

Thank you to everyone who donated and joined us on Saturday. I had the PERFECT birthday (that post coming later)!!
