Eye Exam Follow Up

I feel like I should post a follow up to my eye dr appt! So, here goes...I went in for my 1 week follow up appt for the dr to see how the new contacts were working out for me. Everything was fine except I mentioned, I don't know why, that the previous day my right eye was burning, a little blood shot, and I just wore my glasses to prevent from irritating it any further but that it wasn't currently hurting anymore! So, the eye doc shines that bright little light into my eye, quickly puts it down, stands up and types something into my chart...all the while not saying one.single.word. I'm kind of getting nervous so I said, "Is my eye ok?!" and her reply was, "No." Insert mini panic attack. No?! I only have TWO eyes and they both suck so I really need them BOTH is all I was thinking! She gathers up some "supplies" and says we need to move to another room. She practically runs into another exam room and tells me to sit down....ok...I sit down and she turns off the lights, drops some of those orange eye drops in my eye and looks into my eye with a blue light...she then takes a picture of the back of my eyeball and it pops up on a computer monitor. She goes over and points at something and says, "You have something on your cornea. It needs to be removed as soon as possible. Do you see it?" Ok, first of all...I'm about 5 feet from the computer and secondly...I'm BLIND with my contacts/glasses so NO lady, I don't see it!! I half laugh/cry and say "What is it?!" and the response I get is, "I don't know but it needs to come out." You don't know!? I'm thinking is it a tumor?! I mean really, what is in my eyeball?! She says, "Do you want me to remove it right now?" Uh, not really, seeing as you don't know what it is and I'm alone! I was shocked and in my daze I said, "I guess..." Stupid...stupid me. She says I need to sign a surgical release form...holy cow. Before I could sign anything she is dropping numbing eye drops in my eye and digging around my cornea to remove whatever was on there!! After a few attempts and pictures of my eyeball she says she got it and walks out......

I help myself to the front desk and pay the "surgical fee" and drive myself home...my eye is watering like crazy and burning and my vision is blurry...I call my sister who used to work for an eye dr and she calls him to make sure this is all normal since I wasn't given any directions! Apparently when your cornea is messed with your vision will become blurry and your eye will water. All was well 24 hours later...and whatever was on my cornea is now gone...hopefully for good!

See why I hate the eye dr?!
