Sing Something in September or November

Me: "What'd you do in girl scouts today?"

Youngest Daughter: "Oh, nothing really."

Me: "Really? You guys just sat there?"

YD: "Well, no. I colored three pictures and we talked."

Me: "Talked about what?"

YD: "I need a violet or some color shirt because we're going to sing something somewhere in September."

Me: "Sing something in September? Hmmm...September is really far away...are you sure it's not November?"

YD: "Yeah, I don't really know..."

Me: "Um, did you listen to anything they said!?"

YD: ::talking to her sister now:: "Hey C, you know what we did today??"

I give up...

Crossing Guards are Exempt

Background Info:

"A new state law will prohibit the use of wireless communication devices while operating a vehicle in a school zone. Violators must pay a fine of up to $200 per violation.

House Bill 55 is set to take effect on September 1, and is intended to promote the safety of students.

A few facts about the law:

Provisions under the law will allow drivers to use cell phones in school zones with a hands-free device or when their vehicle is stopped.

School bus drivers will be affected, too.

The law is an amendment of the Texas Transportation Code, section 545.425.

An additional exception is provided in emergency situations, when a driver needs to use a cell phone in a school zone to contact police, fire, or emergency medical personnel."

Ok, I get it...they want us off our cell phone while in a school zone...fine...my sister got a ticket for this very thing the 3rd day it went into effect...except she was on SPEAKER PHONE...guess that isn't hands free?! Anyway...today I was driving home and I see a CROSSING GUARD on her cell phone...sooo are the people who cross the children across busy streets exempt from this law?! Pretty sure if she were crossing my children I'd want her full attention....just saying!

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Oh, my dear readers (all two of you) I hate to break the news to you this way but I didn't know how else to do it......the time has come for me to end my beloved relationship with....Amazon. I know I've talked about my love of Amazon on here before and I was madly in love with their "one click shopping" feature...but never again will I click that sweet little yellow button. Shall I explain?

I lost faith in Amazon all because of ONE person. I know, I'm being a little hard on them but I'm THAT mad about it. I've been selling Hubs' used video games and my old textbooks on Amazon for quite some time...I have a perfect 5 star rating as a seller and I was proud of that. It's not often that you see a seller who has perfect feedback. Anyhow, about a month ago I sold one of hubby's PS3 games to a person we'll just call "B"...of course that "B" means nothing ;)...a week later I get an email from "B" saying they got a PSP game from me when they ordered a PS3 game. Umm, no! We don't own a PSP...now had they gotten the wrong PS3 or even a Wii game I could MAYBE understand....because we do have many games and I normally ship a lot out at a time...but no, they said a PSP game...this immediately threw up a red flag to me...I clicked over to their storefront and their feedback was HORRIBLE...many people complaining about them as a buyer and a seller....awesome. I emailed them back and tell them there is NO WAY, for one we don't own a PSP and for two...NO...I didn't send the wrong game. They argued back and forth...finally I said just send my game back and I'll refund your money...they said "ok, ill send it back tomorrow." Well three weeks later I got the game.......the WRONG game...it's a PSP game. I emailed them and said I got the game but it's not mine and I will not be refunding their money but will gladly ship the PSP game back to them because it's not mine. THEY FLIPPED...emailed me calling me a liar and saying they would report me to Amazon and blah blah....ladies....if you want to ever piss me off and never be my friend again...call me a liar. I may be many things but I am NOT a liar. That word really ticks my timer. I couldn't even respond to them because I was that mad. I get an email from Amazon saying someone is disputing my sale and blah blah blah....so anyway, this "B" person left me HORRIBLE feedback and basically called me a liar on a public website. They are requesting I refund them immediately, I'm not going to!! And I won't...Amazon will have to debit my credit card themselves...I will NOT click on that "refund" button for this "B" person....will not I say! I am currently disputing the claim with Amazon and depending their decision...we may or may not attend counseling to work on our relationship but as of right now....we're done! All because of one person! All because someone is trying to rip me off...IF Amazon takes the money out of my account I will be out a PS3 game AND $47 bucks!! Oh sweet Amazon, don't do it!

Eye Exam Follow Up

I feel like I should post a follow up to my eye dr appt! So, here goes...I went in for my 1 week follow up appt for the dr to see how the new contacts were working out for me. Everything was fine except I mentioned, I don't know why, that the previous day my right eye was burning, a little blood shot, and I just wore my glasses to prevent from irritating it any further but that it wasn't currently hurting anymore! So, the eye doc shines that bright little light into my eye, quickly puts it down, stands up and types something into my chart...all the while not saying one.single.word. I'm kind of getting nervous so I said, "Is my eye ok?!" and her reply was, "No." Insert mini panic attack. No?! I only have TWO eyes and they both suck so I really need them BOTH is all I was thinking! She gathers up some "supplies" and says we need to move to another room. She practically runs into another exam room and tells me to sit down....ok...I sit down and she turns off the lights, drops some of those orange eye drops in my eye and looks into my eye with a blue light...she then takes a picture of the back of my eyeball and it pops up on a computer monitor. She goes over and points at something and says, "You have something on your cornea. It needs to be removed as soon as possible. Do you see it?" Ok, first of all...I'm about 5 feet from the computer and secondly...I'm BLIND with my contacts/glasses so NO lady, I don't see it!! I half laugh/cry and say "What is it?!" and the response I get is, "I don't know but it needs to come out." You don't know!? I'm thinking is it a tumor?! I mean really, what is in my eyeball?! She says, "Do you want me to remove it right now?" Uh, not really, seeing as you don't know what it is and I'm alone! I was shocked and in my daze I said, "I guess..." Stupid...stupid me. She says I need to sign a surgical release form...holy cow. Before I could sign anything she is dropping numbing eye drops in my eye and digging around my cornea to remove whatever was on there!! After a few attempts and pictures of my eyeball she says she got it and walks out......

I help myself to the front desk and pay the "surgical fee" and drive myself home...my eye is watering like crazy and burning and my vision is blurry...I call my sister who used to work for an eye dr and she calls him to make sure this is all normal since I wasn't given any directions! Apparently when your cornea is messed with your vision will become blurry and your eye will water. All was well 24 hours later...and whatever was on my cornea is now gone...hopefully for good!

See why I hate the eye dr?!
