Before! The people who lived here before had this huge flower bed...with nothing in it! We've planted flowers in it before but still had a lot of extra space so I came up with a genius idea....

During! Why not make it smaller honey?!

After! Great idea!! Don't ya think?! BTW - I had to go buy the sod alone...it was scary! Oh, and Tricia...don't laugh! Isn't your soon to be husband a professional? Ha! We're obviously not but I'm still proud of it! We put those stepping stones because when I get out of my car I always have to walk in the old flower bed or now the grass...so instead of killing the grass we just put those two big stepping stones. Hubs and I did it together...I planted all the flowers in this flower bed and in the other ones in our yard. It's a lot of work, just so you know!

My new Gardenia plant...I had one last year but it died in the hurricane. I'm having a little trouble keeping this one looking pretty. Any tips?

Our new Hibiscus tree...our other one also died in the hurricane!

My rose bush...looking mighty fine this year! I always heard roses were the hardest plant to take care of and grow but so far it's been the easiest!

Lucee was a thirsty girl after working in the yard all day!

How cute are these little guys?! Mama bird did NOT like me taking pictures of her babies!

We (and by we, I do mean Kenny) might own a little (or not so little) landscaping company! And I can laugh at nothing, because
A. by the looks of our front yard, you would never know that we own a landscaping company! (although our backyard is a VERY different story!)
B. I had nothing to do with any of the landscaping around here. My idea of landscaping is "Hey, Santiago, could you please trim the hedges a little more next Thursday?"
C. The work you did is not at laughable. Good job!
And you know, next time you launch yourself into a landscaping project, I might know someone who can get you sod and such at wholesale prices!
Thanks girl! I paid $1.50 for each square of sod...I don't know if that's good or bad?! It's 100% San? Saint? Augustine...Can you tell I know nothing about landscaping? lol Would you be so kind and ask Kenny if he knows any tricks to keep my damn Gardenias alive?!
Looks great!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you come do my yard now - please? And water them, etc. Pull weeds?
You know, all that good stuff??
Please? I mean, you're just so damn good at it! :D
We are enjoying a lot of front (and back) yard time too lately.
And your flowers look wonderful!
Seeing those bitty birdies makes me want to run out and check our nests from last year. They're under our back deck and last year they housed babies that were really fun to watch through the floor boards.
Happy Friday. (It is Friday, right?)
